Force and violence
by Ted Koontz, Elkhart, Ind.I greatly appreciated the essay by Rich Meyer on “Strong Nonviolence” (Speaking Out, May 1). I was distressed by the Feb. 20 editorial because of the mistaken way it distinguished “force” from “violence” and because of the implications drawn from that distinction. Meyer’s response makes the essential points in a clear, succinct way. Thanks.
