Means and ends same essence
by Byrdalene and Willis Horst, Formosa, Argentina
Dennis Byler’s article “The Myth of Justified Violence” (Feb. 20) is a perceptive and courageous statement. The implications for mission are enormous. Our mandate in mission is to call the world to join the movement of the wounded Lamb rather than join a movement that in the end will conquer evil with violence. Since means and end must be of the same essence, our missionary practices must coincide with the nonviolent Lamb’s Way.
