FALLS CHURCH, Va.—Representatives of the Vietnamese Mennonite churches in North America (NAVMF) met June 29-July 1 at the eighth biennial conference in Falls Church, hosted by the local congregation, Vietnamese Christian Fellowship.
The conference of the NAVMF was chaired by Nhien Pham from Vancouver, who served as the NAVMF president for 10 years.
During his tenure, NAVMF supported church development in Vietnam and in 2006 established a Vietnamese congregation in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
The guest speaker was Thomas Stebbins, former Christian and Missionary Alliance missionary in Vietnam.
Rev. Chau Dang from Calgary, Alta., was chosen the new NAVMF president. The next conference is scheduled for Edmonton, Alta., in 2009.
