Thoughts on San José 2007 II
by Martin Lehman, Goshen, Ind.
As I viewed the July 6 video of San José 2007 on your Web site, I was moved by the speaker who proclaimed it is not about you but about God, who wants to do something in the world and chose you.
It seemed to me she was speaking to Menno-Neighbors, who wrote the statement concerning use of the Confession of Faith, and to those who tended the booth sponsored by MennoNeighbors.
Everett Thomas’ editorial (July 24) tried to give a fair picture of delegate response. It might be helpful to the church if a MennoNeighbor who was at San José were asked to describe how the statement was written, experiences at the booth and the healing and hurtful moments felt within the Mennonite family there. We must know more about how it is to be inside the outside.
