Global Youth Summit 2009 to triple in size

STRASBOURG, France—The second Global Youth Summit scheduled during Mennonite World Conference (MWC) annual meeting in Paraguay 2009 is estimated to triple in size from the previous GYS in Zimbabwe 2003.
Amandus Reimber, vice president of MWC’s youth committee, AMIGO, reported they are expecting 850 young people from throughout the world to gather for GYS; 400 from Paraguay, 200 from the Northern Hemisphere and 150 from the South. The main theme for GYS is “Service: Live the Difference.”
