Finding Christ in Harry Potter
by John Zimmerman, Mt. Pleasant, Iowa
Thanks for Ryan Ahlgrim’s article “Finding Christ in Harry Potter” (Sept. 18). At heart, the books express the core gospel theme that sacrificial love is more powerful than anything else in existence—even death. And the main setting, Hogwarts School, is a place where all (even Slytherins) are welcome and where the rejected can find a home.
Not only should Christians not be afraid of these books; we’re all likely to have our faith deepened by reading and discussing them.
