by Crossroads Valley Brethren Mennonite Heritage CenterPrint Article Email to a Friend

A girl paints a pumpkin Sept. 29 at the fourth annual Harvest Day at Crossroads Valley Brethren Mennonite Heritage Center in Harrisonburg, Va. A thousand people attended the event, and hundreds of children participated in the crafts activities.
Adults listened to stories and music drawn from the Brethren and Mennonite heritage, assisted in harvesting sorghum to boil molasses, observed blacksmiths fashioning hooks, nails and kitchen utensils, and watched thread being spun. —Crossroads
