Getting started in leadership
by Jean Kilheffer Hess, East Petersburg, Pa.
Thanks to Marlene Kropf for “Getting Started in Leadership” (Oct. 16), for her recognition of Marcus Smucker’s important mentoring role while stating, “I also expected to be treated as an equal.”
Marlene encourages congregations to invest in the church’s healthy future by developing female and male leaders. Her assertion that men and women in “truly collaborative partnerships” holds the strongest potential for creative leadership gives us a signpost for the journey ahead.
