A culture of duty?
by Hank Rossiter, Dalton, OhioThank you for the Nov. 6 issue, specifically the articles by Scott Key (Speaking Out) and Lisa Schirch. For a different voice, I read an article in “The Week” written by an Army veteran recently returned from the war in Iraq. He bemoans the absence of a “culture of duty” (duty assuming sacrifice) in American society. He was speaking from a military standpoint, but his words got me thinking. Do we as Anabaptist Mennonites still have any “culture of duty” in our discipleship?
