A mother's hands, a mother's heart
by Carmen Schrock-HurstMother’s Day reminds me of the time Jesus referred to himself as a mother hen, when he wept over the city of Jerusalem and said that he had often longed to gather the people under his wings “as a hen gathers her chicks” (Luke 13:34b NIV). Under his wings we find refuge, shelter, comfort, hope and unconditional love.
