Pets treated better than people
by Dan King, Dover, OhioThank you and amen to Kristi Goering Hiltbrunner (Readers Say, Dec. 18, 2007) in sharing her concerns about “pet-blessings.” Having seen poverty firsthand in Central America and other places, I, too, am troubled with our society’s view of animals—equal to or above humans in care and in spending. Are we as Mennonites no different? Kristi, you are not alone on this.
