What should I know before joining an intentional community?

1. Be ready for disappointment. People will disappoint each other.
2. It is difficult to live up to our best intentions, so there must be grace and forgiveness.
3. Strive to live in unity in a way that does not compromise the uniqueness of individuals.
4. Economics is not the most difficult area; relationships is.
5. Find trusted points of reference outside the community.
6. Be intentional about integrating play and work.
