Pastoral ministry program overlooked
by Melodi A. Shull, Roaring Spring, Pa.
As I read the annual Mennonite education issue (Jan. 20), I was so glad to be reminded once again of the importance of Mennonite education. However, I am again disappointed to see the pastoral ministry program at Hesston (Kan.) College overlooked. Many fine pastors and church workers have come out of that program. In Allegheny Mennonite Conference there are five Hesston pastoral ministry graduates serving as ordained pastors.
Hesston pastoral ministry graduates have "a clear grasp and understanding of Anabaptist-Mennonite identity, theology and faith." Those who serve as pastors do so as well as any of their peers. Associated Mennonite Biblical Seminary, Elkhart, Ind., is not the only "pastor-training school."
