Theology and new social media

by New Media Project

Print Article

The New Media Project at Union Theological Seminary is a research project helping religious leaders become theologically savvy about technology. On July 11 the project released recommendations about the impact of social media on religious life and how to use social media to strengthen the church.

New media may present new challenges to our multi-tasking, distracted minds, but it also brings new possibilities for connection, relationship, and presence across time and space. Think intentionally with your communities [of faith] about the spiritual disciplines you value and when and how new media enables or hinders them."
